Day 35- Purpose and Vision

Here's a graph that shows all of the dirty details about my stats. This covers about two years worth of recording my weight. My original starting point was 312 pounds back in August 2010. This graph shows my tracking starting at 299 pounds in January 2013, to my most recent 274. Sadly, I am up from my lowest point of 252 which was back in June 2014. I remember thinking to myself, how wonderful it is to feel this way. How could I ever go back? Although I don't feel like I am going back, my weight is trying to make its way back there. My body is trying to revert to its old ways.

I have a new mindset, a new vision of myself. But actually, it is bigger than me. It is bigger than my weight or my health. It is about the planet, life, the animals, and yes me. I think that it's time that the focus be put where it needs to be put. Rather than just focusing on myself and what I need, I need to focus on what and how I need things affects the world around me. There needs to be a greater purpose a greater vision. It's funny that with the spiritual area of my life, I focus on what the needs of the church are. I focus on what the Bible tells me is important. I remember that verse that says "Seek ye first the kingdom of God in all of these things shall be made into you. I believe that for spiritual decisions. Yet, when it comes to eating and diet and living and money and everything else that gets in the way, it seems that I forget to apply the principle of this verse to these areas of my life, only the ones where it seems fitting or proper.

Over the past few months, I have been developing a new mindset; I am reinventing myself. It seems strange that at this late age I am looking at life differently. But maybe it's because of my experience, influences, and changing world view. No longer am I going to sit and have someone else tell me what to believe and how to live. I'm not bound by political parties or religious groups. Im not left-winged or right. I'm not caught up in some agenda. I am who I am. I draw from many different influences, but my life, first and foremost will be dictated by the things that Jesus says are true. After these truths, I have a list of quotes and references that help guide my life and thinking.

There are plenty more, but let's take a look at some of them...

Words from the Bible that I heed:

-"Love the Lord with all my heart and love my neighbor as myself."

-"My body is a temple."

-"Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him."

-"For god has not given me a spirit of fear, but a spirit of love and a spirit of power and a sound mind."

Other influential people whose words ring true:
